She was at her cousin brother Harjinder Singh Khangura’s house in Kasba Sudhaar Bazaar in Ludhiana, Punjab, at the time of her death. She died on 17 November 2022 after fighting the disease for many years. Having similarity with the Bollywood film ‘Seeta Aur Geeta,’ the film is a story of twin girls- a gipsy and a college student. Following the release of the film, special seats were reserved for the female audience and families visiting theatres in Punjab. Daljeet played a double role in the superhit Punjabi film Saidan Jogan, which forced the female audience to Punjab’s cinema.In the same year, she featured in the Malayalam film Tharu Oru Janmam Koodi opposite Prem Nazir.The film starred Dharmendra in the lead role. In 1978, she played a cameo in the Punjabi film Giddha.In the same year, she played the role of Laajo in the Punjabi film Daaj.A few days after joining the institute, Daljeet bagged a role in Kundan Shah’s short film Bonga (1976). While studying at FTII, she was the batchmate of the Indian actor Satish Shah.Meanwhile, she also got inclined towards acting and joined FTII, Pune, to pursue an acting course. She was a national-level Kabaddi and Hockey player in her college days.Although her parents wanted her to become a doctor, she desired to become a civil servant in childhood.She was good at studies and sports in her school days.While she was still a child, her family moved from Siliguri, West Bengal, to their native place, Aitiana village in Raikot, Ludhiana, Punjab.After battling a prolonged mental illness, Daljeet Kaur died at the age of 69 on 17 November 2022.
